Trip Report |
Captured Moments |
| On the 30th March my family and I went to the family fun
day. We arrived late because we had church in the morning; when we got there
Katrina had already handed out bandanas to everyone. The bandanas were
green, yellow and white. When I got my bandana it was white. The white and
yellow teamed up and the green stayed just with green. About five minutes after we arrived we started playing the games. Our Judge was Craig and he wore a pink bandana around his beard. The first game was a three legged race. Each pair had to get around Craig and back to the line for the next pair to go. Once all the pairs were finished that team would win. The catch was that Craig was allowed to move. The green team and yellow team tied the three legged race because of the cheaters and because it was just a plain tie. I think Dad was the main cheater though because he picked up Ashleigh and ran the whole way. |

| The second game was an egg and spoon race (the eggs were
ping pong balls). Again we had to go around Craig and he was allowed to
move. This time if you dropped the ball and you were above about 1½ metres,
then you would have to pick it up and go back to the started. If you were
below 1½ metres then you could pick it up and keep going. Yet again in this
race there were a few cheaters although the rules didn’t included holding
the ball so I guess it was ok. Green team won again because they were down a
player who had wandered off. The third game we would have played was to blow a ping pong ball along the ground with a straw around Craig and back to the line for the next player to have a go. But the ground was to rough so we played another game. The game we played included you putting a ball between your legs and hopping or running around Craig, who could still move as he wished. The green team won again because now they had only five players against the yellow team which had eight including the little kids. The green team had no little kids left unlike the yellow team. There were also a lot of cheaters in the green team. |

| The fourth and second last game we played was dunking for balls. Only the kids could play but before we were told that Dad stuck his head into the tub and grabbed a ball. When he looked up he shot the ping pong ball at Chloe’s head just getting her eye. She went off crying but came back to pay. There were two types of balls in the tub, ping pong balls and 5 tennis balls. The ping pong balls gave you one point each and the tennis balls gave you 5 points each. I wasn’t allowed to play because I had a cold and mum didn’t want me giving it to any one else. The green team won with three tennis balls and a lot of ping pong balls. I not even sure if the yellow team got any balls. | ![]() |
| The fifth and last game we played was tug-of-war. Every one
was involved in this because the missing people had come back through the
dunking for balls game. But we didn’t get any further than one tug because
Rose (she was in the green team) had tied the rope around her hand. Katrina
put an ice pack on it and every one went and sat down. She had a nice red
hand for the rest of the time. No one won the tug-of –war. Green team won altogether but every one shared the jelly beans. After the games we either had lunch or went home. My family stayed and had lunch. After lunch I went and played tag on the playground with my family and some of the club kids. After a hour or two we went home and rested. Thanks Katrina for a great day out and to every one that came. By Caragh Power |
