What an amazing weekend it was with 30 adults and 5 children attending.
We arrived on the Friday night and set up camp. The campfire was lit with its welcoming flicker and the low drones of the chatter and welcoming laughter was heard as we set up our camp.
We awoke to a lazy Saturday morning with a late breakfast. Kelly organised a beautiful walk along the river to the lava flow.
WOW! is all that I can say as the river was sparkling and the water inviting. We did not see the platypus that dwell in the river, though others had on their walk.
Robbie had taken a photo of one swimming in the middle of the river. The backdrop of the high shear faced cliffs and mountains were breathtaking as you listened to the sounds of nature all around you.
We came back to the campsite and had some lunch and Kelly had set up some fun games, trivia and Secret Santa. Secret Santa did not disappoint with its hilarity, present stealing fun. Yes the kettle raised its head again.
Happy hour was next which is always lovely with many tasty nibbles to share.
Dinner was served with dishes that we had all bought. Everybody had outdone themselves with delicious and yummy taste sensations for all to share.
Dinner was followed by Trivia that Heidi had set up for us all and was filled with much fun and laughter.
The campfire again was glowing with drinks, stories and banter into the night.
Sunday morning we arose and had a leisurely breakfast, slowly packed up, said our goodbyes and headed home.
The weekend was incredibly relaxing and laid back.
Thank you so much Kelly for organising an amazing weekend!!!
Happy Christmas in July to everyone.
