- Border Ranges Tour – June 2nd 2025: Embark on a scenic 4WD adventure through the Border Ranges. This medium-grade trip offers stunning landscapes and a chance to explore the unique flora and fauna of the region. Camp at Woodenbong campground and enjoy day drives depending on conditions.
- Trophy Day – June 8th 2025: Join us for our Annual Awards Day at The Gap. Celebrate the achievements of our members, enjoy light refreshments, and share stories from the trails. Don't forget to bring your chair!
- You've Gotta Love a Long Lunch – June 15th 2025: Get ready for a long lunch at the iconic Breaky Creek Hotel. Come along for a relaxed social catch-up with your club mates — good food and great company guaranteed!
- Severn & Stone @ Sundown National Park – June 20th 2025: Experience a weekend off-grid adventure through Sundown National Park. This medium to hard-grade trip includes rocky terrain, river crossings, and steep climbs. Hosted by our club, with the Lockyer 4x4 Club joining us for the ride.
- Weekender @ Binghi Station NSW - 4th July 2025: Join us for a unique camping experience at Binghi Station, a historic 4,000-acre property in Torrington, NSW. Once a thriving tin and gem mine, Binghi offers rugged granite landscapes and untouched bushland. We'll camp at Secret Gorge (Campsite 1), with amenities including hot showers and drop toilets. Note: BYO water and last fuel stop is Wallangarra. Pets are allowed.

End of Year Committee Reports - Part TWO
DARYL O'RAFFERTY - VICE PRESIDENT
The last twelve months have been fun and challenging for me and the committee. We started the year with the challenge of taking the club forward and making it stronger, whilst benefiting the members.
Over the last year, we have looked at and dealt with implementing Non-Disclosure agreements for all committee members, implemented Privacy Policy (thanks to Mel Fisher), completed annual tax Returns (in accordance with tax reporting requirements for Non-Profit organisation implemented by the ATO), reviewed our Constitution and By-Laws to ensure we are covered for Conflict of Interest concerns, clarified that our by-laws are in-line with standards for meeting requirements, confirmed where our Constitution & By-Laws is silent that the Association Incorporation Regulations and ACT prevails and implemented changes to the new member process when joining the club.
Whilst all these are dry subjects, there is always a requirement for our club and other clubs to ensure they operate in accordance with the ever-changing rules and regulations that are thrust upon us by regulators.
I have enjoyed doing the role for the last twelve months and look forward to handing over the ongoing challenge to the new VP for 2025/2026.
ANDY KNIGHTON - Sergeant at arms
What a pleasure it is to be able to hand out fines for whatever I see fit & all in the name of charity.
As a reminder, this year's charity is a small Brisbane animal rescue centre called Death Row Unchained. They are an animal rescue that saves abused, neglected and abandoned animals of all kinds who have no options. They also run animal therapeutic programs & camps for people with disabilities & can be covered by their NDIS package.
They are 100% volunteer-based, with all proceeds made going directly into animal care and saving more lives. Their sanctuary is home to over 180 animals, and they also run re-homing programs and have saved more than 4500 animals. They are the ones taking in the seniors, the big dogs and the high medical needs cases, sitting in the corner at the back, missed and forgotten.
But now back to the Sergeant!
What a year it’s been, although with some work shift changes I’ve been MIA a little recently, but there is always others happy to help in my absence. There is the serious side of fines, ‘Safety Fines’, which is a note donation, although always an accident, it’s a great way to help others learn valuable tips like - don’t drive straight into the back of the next car in front of you, step over the live winch or snatch strap & so many more.
Then there are the fines based on others misfortune! Like maybe forgetting to pack your swag, but offering to carry someone else’s as you had the space! Or breaking down 5m into the first track of a recce…There have been such a variety of fines, lots of dobbing in by others, some dobbing in themselves. Then there were trips like the Easter family camp when there were so many fines that a pledge was given just for everyone to donate for the fines to be kept quiet!!
The year is nearly done & so far we’ve raised just over $1000 for a very worthy cause.
I’ve really enjoyed being the sergeant of our fantastic club & hopefully I’ve given some laughs (or cringes!) along the way.

Matt Boyd - PUBLIC RELATIONS
As we wrap up another big year for the Brisbane 4WD Club, it’s clear just how much our members, supporters and sponsors contribute to keeping us active, connected and out on the tracks.
This year saw us involved in a range of events that really showcased the spirit of our club. The TRED x NBCF Fundraiser brought members together to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research — an important cause that we were proud to stand behind. We also had members step up to support athletes at The Guzzler Ultra-Marathon, providing 4WD assistance and encouragement right when it was needed most.
Community days like the MDC Open Day BBQ gave us the chance to catch up off the tracks and spend time with new faces, supporters and families. Events like these remind us that our club is about much more than four-wheel drives — it’s about people and the friendships that grow through a shared love of the outdoors.
Our raffles continue to be a steady source of support for club activities and community causes. This year’s major raffle alone raised over $2,000 — every ticket sold helps us fund trips, social events and community contributions.
We couldn’t do any of this without the backing of our generous sponsors Hardkorr, MDC & Newman Mechanical. and oursupporters ARB, Carbon Winches, Cat Mountain, Croc Hinge, , Mickey Thompson Tyres and Outback Armour — thank you for helping us do what we do best.
Track to Table - Progressive Dinner 2025
I would like to take this opportunity to give further information on the 2025 Progressive Dinner.
- When: From Friday the 10th October to 12th October
- Where: Yarraman Caravan Park, 12121 D’Agular Highway Yarraman, Bookings@yarramancp.com.au or you can call: Mobile: 0491758580/ 07 41638185 and talk to Lorraine, Tina or Marc. Please state with your booking that you are with the Brisbane 4wd Club and they will position us all together. If 10 or more sites are booked, the club will receive a 15% discount.
- Cost: Powered sites are $50 per night ($42.50 with discount). No cabins are available.
Previously the theme of the progressive dinner is to have entrée, mains and dessert travelling to 3 different locations around Brisbane, however I have thrown that out the window and come up with an idea to hold it all in one place at the caravan park. The theme is “Around The World” and what I would like is for members to nominate and provide a tasty morsel (Food or beverage) of a country around the world. E.g I am providing pavlova from Australia.
When you register, please nominate what you will be providing in the Progressive dinner chat group, this will avoid double ups and get the taste buds salivating……
From there, we as a group walk, stagger, crawl from one tent, caravan, awning, tarp to the next to sample the said tasty morsels and mingle with the other guests.
After the progressiveness of the meal/s, we can then sit around the campfire with full bellies and enjoy the evening. Of course, participation is not compulsory but encouraged. You can just come out and enjoy the weekend.
