The Christmas Party weekend at Noosa North Shore threatened to be upset by wet weather, but the rain gods smiled on us, and we managed to stay mostly dry.

Most people arrived and setup camp throughout Friday and into Saturday morning.

Friday night was a relaxing evening with some people trying out the BBQs at the campground and others trying out their new pizza ovens. Aaron and Matt showcased their pizza cooking skills while Mel and Helen were kept busy keeping the pizzas coming. They generously shared, and the pizza was even said to be better than Sam’s at one point! Sorry Sam!!

It ended up being a reasonably early night after it was suggested by a lovely gentleman who was staying in the glamping tent that we should all head to bed at 10pm.

Everyone settled in for the night and, as far as rain goes, we only had a few light showers overnight.

Saturday morning found some heading for the beach for a bit of sand and salt water, while others preferred a cool down in the pool or a bit of relaxation and chatting around camp. It was certainly a humid day as everyone looked forward to the planned afternoon of Christmas fun and frivolity.

A slightly scary-looking Santa with Chopper Reid vibes arrived and handed out presents to the little and not-so-little kids. Cooper and Brynn, in particular, seemed to really enjoy their time with Santa.

Secret Santa for the adults produced some laughs and plenty of stealing as people battled for a few interesting items. Several people would have been busy later in the night trying out the lacy knickers that came with their bottles of wine. I’m sure Sue has put her pink flamingo basket to good use at home and is showing all her friends and family.

Following Secret Santa, the Celebrity Heads game had people trying to guess which vehicle they were, with some having more luck than others! Once again, Sue seemed to draw the short straw but took it all for good fun.

It was then time to head to the pub restaurant for a delicious Christmas dinner and a couple of drinks before heading back to camp. Everyone was in good spirits and enjoyed chatting and catching up over a few drinks.

Sunday was a pack up day and most managed to get packed up before we got a fairly heavy downpour.

I think everyone will agree that it was a really fun weekend, and it was good to see and catch up with some long-standing members and get to know some newer members better.

A very big thanks goes to Anne and Kieran for their hard work planning and organising everything, including the yummy ice-creams for dessert on Saturday night.

Merry Christmas everyone.
