NYE Bash @ Gordon Country
27th Dec - 1st Jan 2025
Trip Leader - Aaron & Mel Fisher

The club celebrated the coming of 2025 at Gordon Country.

Robbie and I headed out to Gordon Country earlier than the days allocated because a breakaway was well overdue. This was our first trip in Sandy ‘Heather’ Troopy.
We had not yet completed the full fit out, but most of it was done.

The weather was hot, the cicadas were loud (once in a 100-year event), and the crystal-clear stream was absolutely beautiful and refreshing.
Great swimming spot and the doggo’s enjoyed themselves. The few days relaxing was just perfect.

Our daughter Sarah, her husband Etienne and 6-month-old baby Hamish (Poster baby for Darche swags), and two Staffy’s Ethel and Agnes, joined us for a few days.
Over the coming days, others joined us and before long the 4WD family were gathering.

New Year's Eve threatened showers, but we were well-prepared with gazebos, decorated with NYE lights, streamers and glow sticks.

Carwin’s daughter, Amity, made glow-stick necklaces, earrings and bracelets for everyone, added fibreoptic thingies to our heads along with the decorations for the gazebos and people the atmosphere was complete. Everyone contributed to the meal, which was delicious as always.

Mel counted down the coming of 2025, cheers and good will completed the night. There was no better way to see the new year than around a campfire with wonderful company.

A big thanks to Mel and Aaron for running the trip.
